  • Tell Our Story

We propose the creation of the Stonewall National Park (at Christopher Park). This will ensure that we can tell the history of the Stonewall Uprisings for future generations.

  • Learn More

A Stonewall National Park would ensure that the story of the Stonewall uprising is told and available to all Americans who visit this historic site

  • Protect the Building

The Stonewall is the first NYC landmark designated for its LGBT significance. This will legally protect the physical structure to preserve its integrity for future generations.

Step 1:  Protect the Building

The NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission voted unanimously on Tuesday June 23rd, 2015, to landmark the Stonewall, the site of the Stonewall Uprisings!  This is the first landmark in NYC designated for its significance in LGBT history.  Thank you for your support on this initiative.

Step 2: Tell the Story

We propose the creation of the Stonewall National Park (at Christopher Park). This will ensure that we can tell the history of the Stonewall Uprisings for future generations. The Stonewall National Park would be the first LGBT Park in the National Park System, and this would anchor LGBT history in the narrative of the National Parks.
